Oskar Blues Brewery is a well-known craft brewery that originated in Lyons, Colorado, and later expanded to Longmont, gaining national fame for its innovative approach to craft beer. Established in 1997, Oskar Blues has become a pioneer in the craft beer world, known not only for its unique and flavorful beers but also for being one of the first craft breweries to can its beers, which was groundbreaking at the time.

Oskar Blues started as a small brewpub in Lyons, Colorado, founded by Dale Katechis. The brewery initially focused on creating bold, flavorful beers with a commitment to innovation and creativity.

Oskar Blues is credited with pioneering the craft beer in cans movement, which changed the way many breweries approached packaging. Initially, craft beer in cans was seen as lower quality, but Oskar Blues proved that cans could preserve flavor better than bottles by keeping out light and oxygen. Canning also made craft beer more portable and environmentally friendly.
